Back in school
I am back in school again after summer spent teaching, and developing new systems and curriculums for CoachWayne2GO. I am a junior now, majoring in interactive design since fall 2007, at SCAD. I am only taking two classes this quarter: Typography I. and Interactive Design class.

Exciting news from CoachWayne gymnastics is our new location at Hilton Head Island. We have re-located into Shelter Cove mall (mid-island) and dressed it up with mats and beams and such. We currently only hold classes there on Fridays afternoon but hope to hold more classes soon. For Shelter Cove Mall gym class schedule and address click here. I am hoping to upload some of my school art work on this site soon. So check back (I promise I'll be much better about updating my site much more often). top

Too busy...
Hey guys, sorry I haven't been updating the site a whole lot. I have been so busy with CoachWayne2GO that I wasn't able to go to school during winter quarter. I have been teaching a lot as well as developing new teaching methods, curriculums, student evaluation program, etc. CoachWayne2GO now operates in 6 locations Monday-Saturday and we hope put out another operating unit toward the beginning of summer. Currently we operate at Southbridge, Savannah Christian Prep. School, Jewish Educational Alliance, and Landings in Savannah, and Hilton Head Island and Bluffton in South Carolina.

Starting on March 24th I will go back to school at SCAD. If you remember from my fall 2007 posts I have switched my major from Graphic Design to Interactive Design. I am very impatient to start my major courses this spring. I will be taking Introduction to Interactive Design with professor Sari B. Gilbert, Digital Design Aesthetics from professor Aram N. Cookson and a Introduction to modern dance from professor Vincent L. Brosseau as my studio elective. I am so excited about being able to take formal dance class. I have never been in one besides my gym class.

As to my active competition career, I must say to all of you fans "thank you for your support throughout my career." However, from now on I am planning to be involved in gymnastics (for the rest of my life! :D) mostly as a coach. I believe that I have responsibility to pass along what I have learned in the sport onto the youngsters. I particularly enjoy teaching the preschool age kids when I teach from CoachWayne2GO (2-5 years old). Even though my competition days are over (although you never know how things may change) I still keep up with some of my tumbling and such since I teach and have need to demonstrate great technique.

Today wasn't a very fun day for me. I had to go see my dentist to get a crown done. Luckily, my dentist is a friend of my husband so he was extremely generous with the numbing agents. Regardless, if you are anything like me than you know that the dentist's office is a must avoid at all costs (well maybe not all) and that even a friend of your close ones is not your/my friend while wearing that dentist outfit and the meeting takes place at the dental office. But all went as expected (I won't say "all went well" because there is nothing "well" about dental work and needles that shoot down to your jaw bone).

One more news: Hayley Samuel came from Australia in February for year long internship with CoachWayne2GO. She stays with us in our home in Savannah. Besides helping with teaching and running the company she has become our great friend in not even a month of her stay with us. top
